OBJECTIVES:
-Review basic dermatology terms to accurately describe vulvar lesions
-Discuss basic anatomy of the vulva and characteristics that make vulvar skin vulnerable in the pediatric population
-Review different categories of vulvar dermatoses, including: pigmentary, inflammatory, ulcerative, infectious, bacterial, viral, and fungal, as well as vulvar manifestations of systemic diseases
-Review steroid categories and treatment options for vulvar disorders
-Discuss in more detail the pathophysiology, clinical course, and treatments for lichen sclerosus in the pediatric population
