“What is evidenced based and what is voodoo?” will be presented by Dr. Megan Billow, Assistant Professor, Department of Reproductive Biology, Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, Co-Director, Endometriosis-Pelvic Pain Center of Excellence, University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center. This presentation will discuss evidence based prevention of surgical site infection and how to implement into clinical practice.
Objectives:
- Discuss the pathophysiology of SSIs and understand risk factors for development of SSIs.
- Describe evidence-based interventions that may decrease SSI occurrence
- Summarize suggestions for clinical practice.
