The S.T.A.B.L.E. Program is an educational tool for community hospital caregivers, developed to serve as a concise guideline for the pre-transport stabilization and care of sick newborns. The program is designed for the period following successful resuscitation of the newborn. All hospitals need to be prepared for a newborn who becomes sick and requires post-resuscitation stabilization and/or transport. Before arrival of the transport team, community hospital caregivers should anticipate, recognize, and effectively correct problems as they arise. The goal of all transport teams is to transport a well-stabilized infant, minimizing adverse outcomes. This goal is best achieved when stabilization is promptly and effectively initiated by hospital caregivers.

Per S.T.A.B.L.E. Program (Rule#4):  All students must have a Learner/Provider Manual (6th ed., ©2013) as their resource during class.  You may also borrow one from your place of employment or from a friend.
