About 3,500 US infants die suddenly and unexpectedly each year. The cause of death in many of these cases of sudden unexpected infant death (SUID) often cannot be explained, though many of these cases occur while the infant is sleeping in an unsafe sleeping environment. SUID is the term now used to encompass sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS), accidental suffocation, and other unknown causes of sudden death.

Objectives

Participants will be able to describe newly updated infant safe sleep practices

Participants will be able to identify social determents of health that can affect infant safe sleep
