Rest Lab 10: Path explores movement as a form of reflection and rest. A winding path invites visitors to explore the meditative and therapeutic potential of movement through their own pace and sensory experience. Supported by soft furnishings, sensory tools, and a sound library, the installation encourages multiple ways of navigating through activity and stillness. Rather than moving towards a destination,

Rest Lab is a creative, experimental series that invites resting with intention. Each Rest Lab is unique and encourages visitors to experiment with various ways of taking up space in the galleries of Krannert Art Museum or elsewhere on campus. In the museum, Rest Lab has occupied spaces that otherwise would remain empty as they “rest” between exhibitions. Creating spaces that resist the demands for productivity, urgency, and overexertion, Rest Lab invites visitors to slow down.

On view through October 3, 2026.

Krannert Art Museum is open Tuesday–Friday, 10–5; Saturday, 10–4; and Thursday until 8 pm, when classes are in session. Exhibitions and events are free and open to everyone! Parking nearby is free after 5 pm and on weekends.

Curated by Kamila Glowacki, Assistant Curator of Community Engagement and Learning, and Ishita Dharap, Artist and Educator.

Krannert Art Museum acknowledges support from the Illinois Arts Council.
