The goal of the Medical Education Grand Round Series is to promote and share current scholarship related to teaching practices, improve faculty and clinician teaching skills and provide a forum for teaching faculty to share their results from medical education research.
Upon conclusion of this session, participants will be able to:
- Explain the difference between descriptive, prescriptive, and normative approaches to clinical decision making,
- Discuss the curricular role of decision making, and compare it with those of evidence-based medicine and bioethics, and
- List three broad decision making competencies that can be emphasized in curriculum and instruction
