Sara Sefried, Director of Human Trafficking Services, and Matt Fuller, Human Trafficking Training Specialist, Center for Prevention of Abuse, will present Identifying Human Trafficking in a Healthcare Setting.

DESCRIPTION
Human trafficking not only crosses national and international borders, but also surfaces at the street level within our local communities. Illinois currently ranks 10th in reports to the National Human Trafficking Hotline.  As a medical provider, you are likely to come into contact with this covert crime and play a critical role in identifying and responding to human trafficking victims.  Human trafficking is a crime resulting in serious negative health outcomes for the victims. To provide optimal care, thus improving health outcomes, healthcare providers must be able to identify victims as they seek care.
