This year, FMIG is partnering with the UIC Family Medicine Residency program to deliver 35-40 Christmas meals to some very special families in Rockford. These families are patients at the Mile Square Health Center-L.P. Johnson Rockford. Turkeys have been donated by one of the local grocery stores, but we were hoping to fill the rest of their food baskets with non-perishable donations. There will be a box in the main lobby and a box on the second floor in the Partner's Pavilion by the large window! Food will be collected until Friday, Dec 10th!
Here is a list of non-perishable food items that would be appreciated:
-canned veggies (corn, beans, peas, carrots, yams/sweet potatoes)
-boxed stuffing
-instant potatoes
-rice
-mac and cheese
-soups
-boxed noodles
-cake mix/frosting
-gravy
We are so appreciative of any/all donations!
Volunteering for food drop off will likely be on Saturday, December 11th from 9am-12pm. Details about food delivery will come at a later date. This would be a great volunteer activity for those available! ☺
