IMPROVE BIRTH OUTCOMES WITH EVIDENCE BASED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL DEVELOPMENT
In this course, we will:
- Understand why movement is beneficial
- Describe variations in pelvic shape and the subsequent effects
- on fetal positioning
- Compare changes in space of the pelvic openings based on
- femur rotation, sacral/iliac nutation/counternutation, and asymmetry
- Discuss the role of pelvic variations on fetal positioning and labor
- scenarios
- Reframe the idea of “optimal fetal positioning”
- Discuss how pelvic floor lengthening works in conjunction with movement to support
- vaginal birth
- Visualize how different positions for the birthing person change available space for the
- baby based on their position/presentation
- Explore positions for encouraging descent and rotation at different fetal stations
