This 1-day seminar focuses on supporting families experiencing perinatal loss (e.g., miscarriage, stillbirth, prenatal life-limiting diagnoses, newborn death). The purpose of this seminar is to increase participants’ understanding and to foster sensitivity in those interacting with bereaved parents and families.
- Participants completing this training are able to do the following:
- describe the role of interprofessional teams in caring for bereaved parentsand families
- explain relationship-based practice
- list three theoretical frameworks that promote relationship-basedbereavement support
- list four types of perinatal loss
- explain the importance of respectful disposition practice
- assess self-care needs
This seminar is designed for staff who interact with and support families experiencing perinatal loss.
