Purpose: To understand the care coordination and preparation
required when providing adoption-planning services to pregnant
women with a substance use history
Objectives:
* Understand the unique challenges facing women who are
using substances and making an adoption plan
*Explore case studies that illustrate the need for a
multidisciplinary approach under these circumstances
*Learn about education provided to the adoptive parents prior to
the placement of a substance-exposed newborn .
