The Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) is an educational program jointly sponsored by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and the American Heart Association (AHA). The course has been designed to teach an evidence-based approach to resuscitation of the newborn to hospital staff who care for newborns at the time of delivery, including physicians, nurses and respiratory therapists. Certification is typically valid for two years. This course is intended for practitioners who have not taken the course previously. Certification renewal is also possible. Visit aap.org/nrp for additional information about the course.
